Featured Artist
Michael Johnson (BROCRISP) is a co-founder of Rock Rising and serves as RR’s Creative Director. He also hosts our seminal podcast Looking For Artists.
Michael is an actor and musician. He creates music under his pseudonym BROCRISP. This is Michael’s purest story-telling avenue. It is his literal voice. It’s the space where he tells his most personal stories. The songs that blossom here are less musical collaborations with producers and writers, and more like conversations with friends. Together they’ve been sorting through life’s chaos, finding the moments worth encapsulating and sharing.
Most recently Michael has developed and co-written Everyday Charlie a cool musical about fifth graders (scroll down to read more!). He also starred in Scott Arick’s short film “Don’t Call It Magic” in 2020.
And to add to the pot, he’s also a visual artist! Michael designs custom vans with sharpies. Check out his IG below and put in your custom-order before he gets too busy!

Seasonal Project
Each season, Rock Rising’s team works to produce an original piece of theater, music, audio experiences, videos, and more. Some examples include By Morning: An Audio Play, Jacob Davis Presents...Rock Rising, and LFA Thoughts: A Series of Video Interviews.

Everyday Charlie was workshopped in New York City and Chattanooga, TN in Spring/Summer 2021.

Internship Program
Rock Rising offers creative internships for 3-months at a time! These internships range from Social Media & Marketing support to collaborating with writers and artists on our projects, merchandise, and more!
Just $600 will pay for one entire internship (at $200/month).
